Young Audiences WNY presents Family Night at Elmwood Village Association's free summer concert series. Beginning at 6:30 pm, families are invited to join the excitement at Bidwell Parkway on Elmwood as our staff helps young concert-goers to create Mexican Flowers. YA teaching artist Sarah Hooper will join the fun as she offers Salsa lessons both before the concert and during intermission. The evening's featured performance by the Latin Jazz Project begins at 7 pm. This event, sponsored by M&T Bank, is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
In the years of it’s existence, the Latin Jazz Project has strived to express a wide range of musical styles; latin, jazz, progressive and traditional, representing the musical heritage of multiple ethnicities embodied in the complexity of American life. Led by percussionist/guitarist Manuel “Manny” Perez and pianist/arranger Kevin Doyle, Latin Jazz Project features the lead vocalist Carlos Day, percussionist Juancito Bentancourt on timbales, Francisco Quinones on congas and bassist Alex Aponte, all monumental talents.
